The story
Holly and I knew that we needed to have this baby early. We had told our Dr. countless times that we needed to because we had a hard time getting Zack here at 8 lbs 10 oz. Dr. Crouch had stated Holly you will not be able to deliver any bigger baby then that. Oh how those words were write. Holly began her journey on Friday the 8th at 7:00am. We arrived at the hospital to have an induction. At about 7:45 we were in our room and Holly was on pit and the Dr. broke her water. We were on our way. She progressed great she started at a 3 and progress to a 5 a few hours later an 8. We were at an 8 by 1:30 pm she took a pain killer to take the edge off the pain. This baby I was sure was going to be here by 2:30pm. The Dr. was confident and so was the nurses. She would push some and then we would wait. She was now fully dilated and it was 2:30 everyone came in and we were going to get this baby here. Holly pushed and pushed and there was little to no progress. She was in incredible pain and she finally decided to take a spinal block that would last for 2 hours everyone was confident that would be long enough to get this baby here. Well see contracted and pushed and the two hour window passed and no baby. The pain began to increase and no baby. Exhaustion set in and no baby. 4:30 comes and Holly is in incredible pain and the Dr. is not sure what is going on why is this baby being so stubborn. They realized that Holly had kinked here Pit cord and they fixed it and she got a super size dose of PIT and she most have contracted for 3 minutes straight. IT was horrifying. She was in major pain. The baby never acted stressed he was cool as a cucumber. We changed positions she pushed in different positions couldn't get the baby to come down the birth canal. Holly was exhausted and in tremendous pain. We worked at it until 5:30 pm and the Dr. stated we ware going to have to do a C section possibly. Holly just started to weep because she didn't really want to. It renewed her resolve to push this baby out. The nurse and I held her and tried one last time to get this baby here with no progress. and about 6ish the Dr. said prepare her for a C section. The wisked her in to surgery and I got dressed to be in there with her and the got the baby here. I held the baby as they stitched her up and let mother look at him. He was 9 lbs 3 ounces and we found out he was posterier and to big. There was no way Holly could have gotten that baby here with a regular delivery. We went to Post op and I went back to the room and sat in the chair by myself and wept. My wife is the most amazing individual I know. I was so thankful for her being ok and and this new addition being in our family.
